To change this behavior, do the following:
- Go to the Folder Options control panel applet (Start>(Settings>)Control Panel>Folder Options).
- Change the setting in the "Click item as follows" area to:
- "Single-click to open an item (point to select)" for single-click mode.
- "Double-click to open an item (single-click to select)" for the default mode
- "Single-click to open an item (point to select)" for single-click mode.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK to close the Folder Options control panel applet.
