Step-by-step instructions

Do the following to stop these warnings from being logged:

  1. Launch the Component Services administration tool (Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Component Services).
  2. Expand the Component Services node.
  3. Expand the Computers node.
  4. Right click on the My Computer Node and select Properties.
  5. Click on the MSDTC tab.
  6. Click the Security Configuration button in the Transaction Configuration area (towards the bottom of the screen).
  7. Put a check in the checkbox next to "Network DTC Access."
  8. Click OK to commit the changes and close the "Security Configuration" page.
  9. A message will appear saying "MS DTC service will be stopped and restarted. All dependent services will be stopped. Please press yes to proceed,"; click Yes.
  10. A DTC Console Message will appear saying "MS DTC service has been restarted"; click OK to acknowledge the message.
  11. Click the Security Configuration button.
  12. Clear the checkbox next to "Network DTC Access."
  13. Click OK to commit the changes and close the "Security Configuration" page.
  14. A message will appear saying "MS DTC service will be stopped and restarted. All dependent services will be stopped. Please press yes to proceed,"; click Yes.
  15. A DTC Console Message will appear saying "MS DTC service has been restarted"; click OK to acknowledge the message.
  16. Click OK to close the "My Computer Properties" page.
  17. Close the Component Services administration tool.
