Windows Media Player (WMP) toolbar option missing

The Windows Media Player 9 toolbar is not displaying. In order to enable this function do the following:

  1. Launch Windows Media Player.
  2. Right click on the taskbar and click Toolbars.
  3. Select Windows Media Player (to put a checkmark next to it).
  4. Minimize Windows Media Player.

If there is no option listed in the Toolbars menu do the following:

  1. Go to DOS (Start>Run>cmd).
  2. Type regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmpband.dll" and press ENTER.

You may also have to do the following from DOS:

  • Type regsvr32 "%windir%\system32\wmp.dll" and press ENTER.

A restart may be necessary for the changes to take effect.
