"RequestSender: Network is unreachable" messages in server logs

(Article ID: 001569)
Summary

The following warning messages appear in the GuardianOS event logs:

          Message Source
RequestSender: Network is unreachable sysbroker

To stop this error set an address for a gateway for the server. If you do not want this server to have access to an outside network, then set the gateway address for a computer on the network that does not forward packets to other networks. A gateway address can be assigned to the server either via DHCP or it can be set statically in the server's web-based UI. To set the gateway via DHCP, please refer to the documentation provided with your DHCP server.

Step-by-step instructions

To set the gateway via the web-based UI, do the following:

  1. Open a web browser to http://<Server DNS name or IP address>/admin/intro?fnc=all.
NOTE: The address may have to start with https if SSL is enabled on the server.
  2. Enter the username and password of a local user with administrative rights on the server.
  3. Click on TCP/IP under the Network Settings heading.
  4. Type the IP address of the desired default gateway and click Save at the bottom of the page.
NOTE: The server will reset the Ethernet interfaces on the server to complete this process. Wait several seconds, and then click the Home icon in the upper right corner of the page to return to the server's main configuration page.

This procedure may have to be repeated for the other interface(s) on the server.
